Collage for 0-2 year old's.
In this activity, the children will get to explore the outdoors, use their sensory motor skills and create their own unique piece of artwork.
WHAT IS NEEDED
-outdoor area, such as a garden, or a park with a variety of trees
-leaves
-glue
-coloured paper
What is involved
In small groups of up to 5 students, the children go into the garden/park with an adult.
Whilst out in the garden, the children can pick up leaves, bark twigs, etc. Here, they get the opportunity to use their sensory motor skills and feel the different textures on offer.
Once the children have observed the different types of trees, how some are bigger, and how some have small leaves etc. they are able to continue with their unique collage creation.
Supplying the children with coloured paper, the findings from the park and glue, they are able to create an individual art work.
They do this by ripping the paper or materials found, and pasting it onto a bank piece of paper.
As the children are not in school, no assessment will be required.
This activity is especially great in Autumn as the leaves of the trees will have various colours, however can take place all year round.
