Collage for 3-5 year old's
What is needed:
-An insect/bug that can be easily found/sourced. Ideas might include lady bugs, flies and ants.preferably in a container to make observation easier.
-plain paper for the background and a pencil
-paint in a variety of colours, or coloured paper (depending on time)
-glue
What is involved:
-If there is time before hand, get the children to paint a piece of paper in any chosen colour. This can be used as the collage paper, however if time is an issue, coloured paper may be used.
-The children will each get the opportunity to observe and draw the insect.
-From here, the children can draw a stencil of the insect onto their plain piece of paper.
-After the sketch has been produced, the children are then able to rip up the pieces of paper they have painted (or colour paper) and glue them onto the paper in the shape they have previously drawn of their insect.

This activity is a great opportunity for children to learn about different insects, and what makes them different. The children are also able to create their own unique artwork from scratch.
No assessment will be used, as the children are not in school, and it is their own individual creation.
