Art responding for 0-2 year old's
The following learning opportunity will enable learning outcomes as set out by the EYLF. The outcomes reached will include:
-Outcome 2: children are connected and contribute to their world -Outcome 4: children are confident and involved learners For this learning opportunity, children are to go outside and observe their natural surroundings. It would be preferable to go to a park or garden where a variety of trees and shrubbery can be viewed. This is to be done in small groups of approximately 5 students, accompanied with adult supervision. To enhance the children's collaging experience, it is important for the children to have an understanding of what the objects they are making look like. By going to a park or a garden, children are able to see that the 'stereotypical tree' that a lot of children, as well as early childhood educators draw is not the only type of tree that is to be drawn. Here, children are able to get a firsthand experience as to the different shapes and textures of leaves, the different formation leaves make and the variation of height amongst trees. They are able to break the often occurring stereotype and look at the uniqueness of trees that are around them. No assessment is required for this task.
